CSSHL student-athletes Donagh Esler-Twiss and Chase Nielson have signed WHL Scholarship and Development Agreements with their respective teams.
Esler-Twiss began his CSSHL journey with Shawnigan Lake School in 2023, strapping on the pads for their U15 Prep team in consecutive seasons. The Victoria, BC native played 45 games across two U15 Prep seasons with Shawnigan before being selected 86th overall by the Calgary Hitmen in the 2025 WHL Prospects Draft. Last season, Esler-Twiss would play 16 regular season games with the U17 Prep squad, eventually securing a Div II Championship at the 2026 CSSHL Western Championships going 3-0-0 with an impressive statline with 1.96 GAA and a 0.952SV%.
Nielson joined South Alberta Hockey Academy after being drafted by the Red Deer Rebels at the 2025 WHL Prospects Draft. At SAHA, Nielson would post an impressive 12-5-1 regular season with a 0.913SV% in the U17 Prep division. Nielson would also pick up a victory in a call up to the U18 Prep team. The Fort McLeod, AB resident was named the Top Goaltender in the U17 Prep division for the 2025/26 season.
