GAME DAY RECAP: November 21, 2025

STAR Hockey Academy (6) vs Notre Dame Hounds (4) U15

The Notre Dame Hounds’ U15 squad and STAR Hockey Academy’s U15 squad both came into Friday at the bottom of the U15 standings, looking at one another feeling the weight of opportunity to earn their first wins of the season. Notre Dame scored two early to lead the Hounds to an excellent early start, with the 2-0 lead eventually becoming a 3-1 lead later in the first period. Unfortunately for Notre Dame, that was where the positivity would end. STAR rattled off five of the next six goals with Asher Kekke (3G, 2A) scoring five points to lead the way. A short bench for STAR saw their top line get a massive chunk of minutes, and Matthew Atherley (5A) joined Kekke in earning five points.

RINK Hockey Academy Kelowna (6) vs RINK Hockey Academy Winnipeg (3) Female U18 Prep

The all-RINK Hockey Academy battle on Friday morning between the Kelowna and Winnipeg contingent started in RHAW’s hands, with a pair of goals early in the first period to give them the perfect start. From there, though, Kelowna dominated. Sydney McIntosh, who hadn’t scored on the season heading into Friday, scored two at the end of the first to square the game at two, before scoring again at the end of the second period to secure the hat-trick. Heading into the third period with a two-goal lead, RHA Kelowna remained in control, proving the best defence to be their offensive control of the game. In addition to McIntosh’s hat-trick, Alida Korte had a hat-trick of her own, providing three assists in the win.

Okanagan Hockey Academy (3) vs Prairie Hockey Academy (1) U15

The Prairie Hockey Academy held control of proceedings for the bulk of sixty minutes, and while OHA’s offensive pushback was in no way diminutive, the 61 shots from PHA would have been overwhelming if not for OHA’s Jonah Gamble keeping his team in it. Gamble made 21 saves on 21 shots in the first and 23 on 23 shots in the third, totally 60 on 61 over the three periods, giving Prairie just one goal on their monsoon of opportunities. Gamble’s heroics gave OHA the chance to come from behind and turn the result in their favour. Kristian Bowen (1G, 1A), Lance Bryant, and Mack Host established OHA’s 3-1 third-period advantage, with Gamble’s rock wall like performance leading them to the victory.

Bourget College Prep (7) vs Okanagan Hockey Academy Black (0) Female U18 Prep

Bourget College’s U18 Prep squad rolled into their Friday afternoon game with the Okanagan Hockey Academy Black squad not just ready to take a win away from Edge School, but to do so in convincing fashion. Tatiana Deblois scored two for Bourget to lead her team to the win, and while goaltender Lea Korinkova didn’t have a massive workload, her 15 saves was enough for the shutout win in Bourget’s 7-0 victory.

Coeur d’Alene Hockey Academy (4) vs RINK Hockey Academy Winnipeg (7) U15

Coeur d’Alene Hockey Academy’s U15 squad have not once struggled for offensive production this season, but in their losses, a consistent theme persists. In six of nine losses, CDA have conceded five or more goals. Despite scoring more goals to date of any U15 team in the CSSHL this season, Coeur d’Alene have a bang-on .500 record. Only one time with more wins than CDA have conceded more goals. As has been the case all season, the top guns for CDA came out firing. TJ Podollan (2G) and Jagger Clark (1G, 1A) scored in the first-period to give CDA the lead in an opening twenty minutes that saw them double up RINK Hockey Academy Winnipeg in shots on goal. However, the wheels seemed to fall off for CDA following that. As continues to be the case, when things aren’t squarely in CDA’s favour, it usually means they’re seeing lots of rubber hits the back of their net. RHA Winnipeg took control and scored five of the six goals in the game’s final forty minutes, with five different players earning multi-point games in RHAW’s 7-4 win.

Delta Hockey Academy Green (7) vs Balmoral Hall School (4) Female U18 Prep

Delta Hockey Academy Green’s U18 Female Prep squad have been high-flying of late, coming in with a seven game-winning streak, and winning 12 of their first 15 games to start the season. Only one team have produced more goals this season than DHAG, but through forty minutes, the game looked a more significant challenge. The two-goal lead built in the first period by Delta had vanished, and they faced down a third-period with the game tied. They’d even concede a short-handed goal early in the third period to make the task appear even more difficult, but fortunately for them, their offensive push produced four goals on merely 12 shots. Payton Finnie (2G, 1A) and Katie Olfert scored two goals apiece each in the win.

Delta Hockey Academy White (4) vs Edge School (5/SO) U15

For the vast majority of the proceedings of three periods on Friday, Delta Hockey Academy White would feel like they’d be in prime position to emerge with a victory. The confidence would even have held deep into the third period, because with less than 90 seconds on the clock in the third period, DHAW led 4-2. In a flash, though, the game was turned on its head. Josh Pomeroy quickly cashed in with two more assists to bring his total for the game to four, and a goal and assist within 17 seconds from Satoshi Takeda pulled the game to 4-4 in short time. Overtime solved nothing, and after two goals and three points in the game, Cohen Snukal-Lyon scored the shootout winner to help Edge complete the come-from-behind victory.

Okanagan Hockey Academy (4) vs Edge School (2) Female U18 Prep

Okanagan Hockey Academy’s Female U18 Prep squad raced out to a 3-0 lead, thanks in part to a shorthanded goal late in the first period and held control of the game through two periods. The 17-5 shots on goal margin in OHA’s favour indicated their dominance in the first half of their game, but from there, Edge School took over and made a push for a comeback effort. Edge controlled the third and capitalized on a powerplay chance down the stretch to eventually pull the game back within one. Teagan Janzen in between the pipes for OHA stood tall from there, making 16 stops in the third period, and helping OHA to a 4-2 win thanks to an empty-net goal.

STAR Hockey Academy (3) vs North Shore Warriors (0) U17

STAR Hockey Academy hit the ground running on Friday afternoon against the North Shore Warriors, doing so through a pair of potent special teams units. Seve Paladino shorthanded early to extend what’s been a red-hot season to 25 points through merely 18 games. Paladino’s shorthanded marker came after a Too Many Men penalty from STAR, and within two minutes of Paladino’s goal, North Shore would take a too many men penalty, sending STAR to their own powerplay. Blaise Weibye double the lead, and from there, they’d switch it into cruise control. Jack Adsit added another goal for STAR to seal the deal, and while goaltender Ry Jeffries wasn’t extremely busy, he still made 18 stops on 18 shots for the shutout win.

Pilot Mound Hockey Academy (0) vs Prairie Hockey Academy (3) U18 Prep

After stripping away the puck in the neutral zone, PHA’s Zane Rains (1G, 1A) would take it in all alone, burying the contests opening goal under three minutes into play. Following Rains’ goal, the scoring would take a hiatus as Adam Courchesne (36/39) and Remy Martins (21/21) played perfect throughout the second. Fast forward to the third and Prairie would find their scoring touch again. Seamus Dillon (1G, 1A) would polish off a clean passing play to double the advantage while Tristan Hoko and Brady Keith (2A) connected on a 2-on-1 to make things 3-0. Martins would hold on to the shutout, making 21 stops in the 3-0 victory for Prairie.

BWC Academy (10) vs Pacific Coast Hockey Academy (2) U15 Prep

Coming off a runner-up performance at the Pat Quinn Classic, BWC Academy was able to pick up where they left off in the U15 Prep division, reaching double digits over PCHA. Prolific sniper Kenzo Gibson (4G) hit the four-goal plateau for a third consecutive game, putting him right behind Parker McMillan for the division lead in goals. Kristian Lima (1G, 3A) and Logan Chang (1G, 3A) would also fill the scoresheet, nabbing four points apiece. Cal McCall (1G, 1A) and Brayden Lindsay would score the Sea Devils’ pair of goals in the loss.

Yale Hockey Academy (5/OT) vs OHA Edmonton (4) U15

Yale brought the heat in the first period, scoring three including two power play goals, giving them a 3-1 lead through twenty. Play would simmer in the second as OHA Edmonton’s Ben Miller would score the lone goal to cut their deficit to one. In the third, OHA Edmonton would come back with vengeance, scoring back-to-back goals in a matter of 27-seconds thanks to the efforts of Wim Coderre and Jiseong Kim. OHA Edmonton was granted a powerplay late in the third, giving them a chance to close off their tilt with Yale. However, Jack Hagen would break through OHA Edmonton’s backline before sliding one five-hole on a breakaway, sending this one to overtime. In the extra frame, the hosts would prevail and complete the late comeback as Brady Barrett fired home the OT winner from the left circle.

Delta Hockey Academy Black (5) vs Northern Alberta Xtreme (3) U15

Friday’s heavyweight tilt between Delta Black and the Northern Alberta Xtreme was off to a rocking start. Delta Black would wire home the first two in quick fashion as Wynn Carey and Bentley Gillis (2G) scored in the opening three minutes. Malik Flynn (2G) would stop the bleeding late in the frame, giving NAX some life heading into the second. Dean Jones would restore Delta Black’s two goal spread on the powerplay, but NAX’s man advantage went to work soon after, scoring back-to-back to tie this contest up at 3-3. Into the third, NAX’s powerplay had an early opportunity to take control, but a shorthanded effort from Zach Giles (1G, 1A) once again put Delta Black back in the driver’s seat. Delta Black would hold on as the third ticked by. Gillis would supply the insurance in a 5-3 victory.

Delta Hockey Academy Black (4) vs South Alberta Hockey Academy (2) Female U18 Prep

After an early swap of goals, Delta Black would take back the lead after Mira Morgan scored her fourth of the season. However, SAHA’s Teagan Torgerson would capitalise on a penalty shot right before intermission, tying this contest up at 2-2. In the second, Abbie Magnuson would restore Delta Black’s lead, scoring the lone goal of the period. SAHA would not hold back in the third with the pressure, outshooting Delta Black 20-3. However, Saysha Brace (41/43) put on an absolute clinic in goal, steering all 20 shots aside to give Delta Black the upset victory!

Bourget College Varsity (0) vs OHA Edmonton Female (2) U18 Prep

Bourget had a tuff task at hand for their first game in the U18 Prep Female division. They travelled across the country from Rigaud, Quebec to Calgary, Alberta to face the top team in the division in OHA Edmonton. Bourget couldn’t score a goal as Emma Skolney gets her second shutout of the season and stays undefeated. OHA scored twice in the first and no goals were scored for the other two periods. Cora Rydel (1G) scored her first of the season 3 minutes in the game, and that became the game winner. Bourget will look for their first win tomorrow taking on the second-best team in the category.

Okanagan Hockey Academy (9) vs North Shore Warriors (2) U18 Prep

Two teams with similar record matched up for the first time this season. After splitting the first two goals OHA would score eight straight goals, three on the man advantage, to run away with this one. Carried by the 4-goal game of Maxx Parfitt (4G, 1A), the 4-assist night of Eli Tverdovsky (4A) and by the 5-point game of Linkin Stadnek (1G, 4A) OHA would cruise to a fourth win this season in North Shore’s home rink.

Shawnigan Lake School (3) vs STAR Hockey Academy (6) U15 Prep

Two struggling teams meet in Seattle, WA as Shawnigan Lake School travels to STAR Hockey Academy. STAR’s only victory of the year came in the last matchup between these two teams and Shawnigan Lake is still looking for that first “W” of the season. They came out the door swinging in this game, Cole Van Oene (1G) opened the scoring one minute into the game and Jackson Saskiw (1G, 2A) double down ten minutes after. But STAR would score six of the next seven goals to take the lead and earn their second win of the season. Jasper Schelter (2A), Mason Olson (2G) and Rhys Rucintango (1G, 1A) record multiple points in the comeback win.

Yale Hockey Academy (2) vs Pacific Coast Hockey Academy (4) U18 Prep

These two teams split the first two matchups of the season and were looking to gain an edge on their opponents. Both teams came into the game after losses in their last games, but PCHA was riding a three-game losing streak. Yale took two penalties in the opening frame and on both special teams a goal was scored. First Parson Shahi (1G) opened the scoring on the man advantage, then Alex Ostrovskyy (1G) tied it up down a man late in the period. Yale scored again, coming out of the intermission, when Joey Brandt (1G) scored his first of the season to give his team the lead. However, penalties were a factor in this one again as Rylan Maughan (1G) scored again on the power play to tied it up. Followed by Kieran Wilson (1G) who would give his team the lead. PCHA would never look back and score an insurance marker halfway through the third period to seal it.

Notre Dame Hounds (1) vs Prairie Hockey Academy (6) U17 Prep

Third matchup between Notre Dame and Prairie this season. Both matchups dominated by Prairie as they earn both win by a combined score of 13-1 and that trend continued this afternoon. Owen Grassick (2G, 1A) with another great game as he now has six points in his last two games and six points in the three matchups between these two opponents. Ramsey Thompson (1G, 1A) and Hudson Pineda (1G, 1A) were the only other players to record more than one point in this game. We can still appreciate the outing by Caden Smith (47/53) who stopped 47 shots while his team was only able to put 19 on Kaidyn Thomas’s net (18/19)

North Shore Warriors (3) vs RINK Hockey Academy Kelowna (1) U15

Duel between two pretty even teams for RINK Kelowna’s visit to Abbotsford, BC to play the North Shore Warriors. North Shore was determined to avenge the lost they got handed by RINK Kelowna earlier this season. To do that they put 40 shots on goal and score three times. After a 9-game goal drought Niccolo Lanari opened the scoring early in the second before RINK Kelowna tied it right after. But North Shore wasn’t going to lose again to RINK Kelowna, so Sawyer Shepard scored the game-winning goal and Talen Lindsay add one in the empty net to close it out.

Pacific Coast Hockey Academy (4) vs BWC Academy (5/OT) U15

The top team in U15 hosted PCHA in the U15 showcase in Abbotsford, BC. In this offensive battle we witnessed two comeback effort that would ultimately fall short, 9 goals and 87 shots on goal. The higher team in the standings started the game as you would expect scoring the two first goal, however PCHA didn’t let that bother them. They scored the next two to tie the game thinking they could get out of this period tied, but Mars Zhang (2G, 1A) had other plans as he gave his team the lead with just 10 seconds left. To grow the lead BWC would score less than a minute in the second period, but again PCHA fought back scoring twice before the end of the game to tie the game again and push BWC into overtime. Unfortunately for PCHA all hopes of completing the comeback were demolished when Zhang would score his team leading 17th of the season to give his team the win.

North Shore Warriors (6) vs Pilot Mound Hockey Academy (0) Female U18 Prep

PMHA had a hard task at their hands facing the red-hot North Shore Warriors. North Shore came into this game after winning their last two games by a combined score of 11-1, but PMHA didn’t let that bother them. This game was close for two and half periods, because after 50 minutes of hockey they were still within 2 goals. But that’s when North Shore would open the machine as they would score four goals in the span of 10 minutes to close out this game by the score of 6-0 and continue their hot streak. They’re now at a combined score of 17-1 in their past three games and will be looking to extend this tomorrow morning.

Shawnigan Lake School (3/OT) vs Northern Alberta Xtreme (2) Female U18 Prep

Shawnigan (4-7-0-1) and Northern Alberta (4-6-1-0) meet for the 8th place in the standings as they have almost identical records. After a tight first period, only NAX was on the board as they took a one-goal lead into the second and would double down with another one in the second. But Leah Hill (1G) was the spark that Shawnigan Lake needed, she scores on the penalty kill to cut the lead in half before the end of the second. In the third Shawnigan Lake tied it thanks to Charlotte Lawson’s (1G) fourth of this 25-26 campaign. Finally, to complete the comeback on a bad turnover Zoe Cramer (1G) got a break in OT and put this on to bed.

Notre Dame Hounds (5) vs Pilot Mound Hockey Academy (10) U15 Prep

Two weaker teams find themselves battling it out on a Friday night in Pilot Mound, MB. The only time Notre Dame was in this game was when they opened the scoring 22 seconds in, because it was all downhill from there. Not even a minute after PMHA scored to tie the game and continued with seven of the next eight goals in the first two periods. At least Notre Dame set themselves up for their following game by winning the third period 3-2. Edin Korajac (3G, 2A0 nets a hat trick and adds two helpers for a five point night just like his teammates Brock Vodden (1G, 4A) and Hinata Hashimoto (1G, 4A).

South Alberta Hockey Academy (15) vs Indigenous Sports Academy (3) U17 Prep

Complete domination by SAHA on the road to beat Indigenous Sports Academy by a 12 goals margin. This was not the kind of game we expected since the last matchup between these teams ended by only a one goal margin. SAHA scored 11 straight goals within a 35-minute span. Nixon Bettenson (3G, 2A) was the top point scorer for his team in this one, scoring a hat trick and feeding two teammates for goals of their own.

Northern Alberta Xtreme (4) vs Notre Dame Hounds (3) U17

Two teams going in very different directions collide Duncan McNeill Arena. Notre Dame on a three game losing streak going up against NAX on a four game win streak and both streaks continued. Notre Dame played a great game but fall short again. They choke two different one goal leads. The first one spoiled by AJ Dutchak ( 1G, 1A) and Gabriel Esteves (1G). However, Notre Dame were able to overcome that deficit going up by one with 7 minutes left in the game but in the span of 7 seconds everything changed. Linkoln Philpotts (1G, 1A) tied it moments before Lucas Morin (1G) scored the go ahead and game winning goal with 3 minutes left.

St. George’s School (5/OT) vs Calgary International Hockey Academy (4) U15

St. George’s pulled out a dramatic overtime win against CIHA after a back-and-forth matchup. CIHA struck first and held a 2–1 lead after the opening frame, powered by goals from Rhett Davis (1G) and Lucas Beaudin (1G, 1A), who finished with a strong two point performance. St. George’s slowly took control, outshooting CIHA 29–20 and getting key third-period goals from Asher Jin (1G, 1A) and Spencer Ho (1G, 1A), with Marcus Nuyen (1G, 1A) contributing a goal and an assist in a standout night. The third period saw four total goals, including a CIHA shorthanded marker before the game headed to OT. Just 18 seconds into the extra frame, leading scorer Alan Qiu (1G) buried the winner, extending St. George’s win streak to six games.

RINK Hockey Academy (0) Winnipeg vs Edge School (11) U18 Prep

Two teams with different momentum collided as Edge hosted the RINK Hockey Academy Winnipeg, and the streaks continued in a decisive 11-0 shutout victory for Edge. Edge set the tone early, leading 5-0 after the first period and outshooting their opponent 20-10 in the opening frame. Edge’s offense was on fire especially the power play, converting on 5 out of 10 power plays while RHA Winnipeg going 0-for-3. Reed Reschny (3G, 1A) led the charge with a hat trick and a four-point night, closely followed by Ashton McCann (2G, 2A) and Drew Wilkinson (1G, 3A), both tallying four points. The victory extends Edge’s win streak to five games and secures a second victory in the season series against RINK Winnipeg.

Coeur d’Alene Hockey Academy (4/OT) vs Shawnigan Lake School (3) U18 Prep

Following a scoreless first, Sidney Armstrong would collect his own rebound of a CDA defenceman to give Shawnigan the initial lead. Later in the frame, Matej Bydzovsky would wire one top shelf off a slick behind-the-back feed from Hudson Podollan to tie things up. However, Shawnigan would burst back into the lead after Nolan Blankstein finished off a gorgeous passing play, giving Shawnigan the lead heading into the third. Shawnigan would once again score first in the third, credit going to Sullivan Bryan off a shot from the slot. However, the books would turn in CDA’s favour in the tail end of this contest. Gavin Smith’s shot would squeeze past Liam Ryan (22/26) to make things a one goal game. Then in the final minute of play, Seattle Thunderbirds prospect Ewen Willers (2G, 1A) would label one short side to tie this up and force overtime. Shawnigan would maintain possession early in the extra frame, striking iron on one occasion. In the end, an unbelievable pass from Easton Margettie (3A) would find the blade of Willers as he would make no mistake in tight, polishing off the comeback victory for CDA. Recently listed Everett Silvertips prospect Bennett Byers (36/39) would make 36 saves in the win.

St. George’s School (6) vs RINK Hockey Academy Kelowna (3) U15 Prep

New Westminster, BC native Jack Davison (1G, 2A) opened the scoring early for St. George’s and was promptly followed by Jayden Ni (2G), scoring shorthanded, soon after. In the second, the Saints’ powerplay would go to work as Luca Rogers (2G, 1A) and Liam Hussey struck back-to-back on the man advantage. Will Tidsbury (2G) would get RHA Kelowna on the scoresheet at the tail end of the frame. In the third, the Saints kept piling on the pressure, giving no room for a RHA Kelowna comeback. Ni and Rogers would each bury their second of the evening to put this out of reach. Tidsbury and Aksel Smith would add a late pair for RINK, but it was too little too late in the evening affair.

Coeur d’Alene Hockey Academy () vs RINK Hockey Academy Kelowna () U17

Friday’s action came to an end with a CDA vs RHA Kelowna showdown from the chilly Priest Valley Arena in Vernon, BC. The temperature may have been frigid, but both team’s powerplays started out hot as Tate Smith and Beckham Monette (1G, 2A) ignited the scoring for CDA and RHA Kelowna respectively on the man advantage. Things would remained tied until RHA Kelowna potted a quick pair to end the second, giving them a 3-1 lead heading into the third. In said third, Xavier Corten would put the icing on the cake for RHA Kelowna, scoring just under two minutes into play. Hudson Saltarella would get one back for CDA late, but the overmouting pressure from RHA Kelowna was too much to bear in the end.
